What is the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal Decoration?
The Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal was created and authorized in march of 1971 to be a good conduct medal for the Reserve units. As it was one of the last medals to be created by DA General Order 4, much of the armed forces felt that the Reserve units needed their own equivilant. Much like the others, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal represents honest and faithful service according to standards for a set period of years. It applies to soldiers " who are ordered to active duty in the AGR program will be awarded the ARCAM if they have completed 2 of the 3 years required (Good Conduct Medal eligibility starts on the effective date of the AGR order)."

The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 is a federal law that makes it illegal for any person to falsely claim to be the recipient of certain military awards, "with the intention of obtaining money, property, or other tangible benefit by convincing another that he or she received the award".This decoration is covered by the Stolen Valor act.
