Service Star Description

A service star (also known as a battle star or campaign star) is a bronze or silver 3/16" device that is affixed to ribbons and medals. It represents a particular action like a campaign or length of service that a U.S. Armed Forces personnel has accomplished. In many cases, they represent an individual campaign that a member could have served in (See Iraq Campaign Ribbon) or constitute a period of service within a time constraint (See National Defense Service Ribbon). The service star device comes in bronze and silver. A bronze star represents one specific action. A silver star represents five bronze stars. On the sixth awarding, the bronze star is affixed to wearer's left of the silver star.This device is in a 3/16' size.It comes in Bronze and Silver.

Per the regulation, the Combat Readiness medal is awarded to "any member of U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard, or Air Force Reserve, who have accomplished sustained individual combat mission readiness in an Air Force weapon system or who have undertaken the preparedness for direct weapon-system employment. A service member must have completed 24 cumulative months of sustained duty performance for the medal to be received."
